German made P 38 in 9mm with two, eight round removable magazines and a 5″ barrel. Plastic serrated grip plates. Left side of frame de-cocking lever. Left side of slide safety switch. Lanyard loop on the end of grip. Serrated hammer and smooth trigger. Fixed blade sights. Imported by “CAI” (Century Arms International) out of Vermont. Comes with a unbranded leather holster. The magazines are marked with numbers, one is etched with a number “15799”. The other is rusty and has metal pitting and is marked “P.38 V” over this marking someone carved “6340”. The pistol has Waffenamt marks and a Eagle and “BH” on the left side of frame, this is a Austrian Army proof. Trigger guard has “Germany” on the right side. Left side of frame by barrel is marked “35” with a star. Trigger guard has a aluminum band marked “A16181” unknown purpose or origin. Barrel marked “CAI ST. A. VT. 9MM PARA”. Unbranded leather holster in very good condition. Matching serial numbers on all of the visible parts. Must ship to a FFL or C&R holder.
Condition: Good. Heavy finish loss on the hard edges, scuffs and scratches throughout. Slides reblued prior to import. Heavy wear on the grip plates with deep scratches and a small chip on the lower right grip plate. Hard contact to the front of muzzle. The rifled bore is clean with a tiny touch of speckling.
