Description German DWM Gew 98 chambered in 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser) with a five round internal magazine and a 29″ barrel. Manufactured in 1916 and imported by Century Arms, marked on the barrel. Front bayonet lug. Blued barrel, bands, receiver, bolt, floor plate, and trigger guard. Straight bolt handle and flag style safety. Adjustable rear tangent leaf sight and fixed front blade. Smooth wood forends and pistol grip stock with metal butt plate. Front and rear sling swivels. The receiver and barrel are matching, most of the small parts appear to be mismatched. The right side of the barrel is marked “S/42G” with two K167 stamps. Other small German proofs. Must ship to a FFL or C&R holder. Condition: Good with scratches, sharp edge wear, and cosmetic handling wear. Some spots of finish thinning/patina. Some light spots of metal oxidation. The butt plate, floor plate, and trigger guard are mostly in the white. Finish loss a few inches from the muzzle. The stock appears to have been sanded and refinished at some point.
