Description Merwin & Hubert Co Frontier 4th Model in .38 Merwin & Hubert with a five round capacity and a 3.5″ barrel. Made in Norwich Connecticut by Hopkins & Allen for the New York Marketer Merwin & Hubert Co between 1887 and 1894. Checkered composite grip plates. Nickel finished trigger guard, frame, cylinder and barrel. Finish worn trigger and hammer with flip down spur. Right side of frame loading gate. Under barrel knurled cylinder/barrel release. Rear notch and front fixed blade sight. Matching serial numbers on the bottom of frame, barrel and cylinder face. Number on the top of the flip down hammer spur does not match frame. The .38 M&H is very similar to .38 Smith & Wesson. Antique, No FFL required and ships to MOST buyers home. Condition: Antique, Good/Very Good with scratches, finish wear/loss, light spots of rust and handling wear. The rifled bore has light spots of old rust/pitting.
