Description World War II Remington Rand M1911A1 chambered in .45 ACP with one, seven round unmarked blued magazine and a 5″ High Standard barrel. Manufactured in 1944 with serial number 1592484. Parkerized steel frame with lanyard loop and checkered polymer grips. Smooth mainspring housing. Single action trigger and hammer. Frame mounted thumb safety and grip safety. The left side of the frame is marked with “FJA” Frank J. Atwood inspection proof. “P” stamp under the magazine release and “8” on the left side of the trigger guard. The right side of the frame is marked with Springfield Armory cross cannons. “UNITED STATES PROPERTY No. 1592484” “M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY”. Right right side of the trigger guard is marked with “H”. The top of the frame forward of the hammer is marked with a “G”. Parkerized serrated Remington Rand slide with fixed iron sights. “P” stamp on the top of the slide. The barrel is marked “HS” on the right side of the lug and “P” on the left side of the lug. Must ship to a FFL or C&R holder. Condition: Good having been roughly and improperly cleaned with visible buffing marks and finish loss throughout. Some of the lettering is dull from being buffed. The barrel is almost a chrome finished from being buffed. Spots of finish patina. Some scratches and normal handling wear. Normal wear on the internal parts from operation. Scratches and dings on the grips. Bright bore with strong rifling, has frosting of metal oxidation in the grooves.
