Description U.S. Springfield Trapdoor chambered in .45-70 Gov with a single shot capacity and a 23″ barrel. Patinated blued barrel, trap door, breech, hammer, lock, trigger, and trigger guard. Smooth wood stock with metal butt plate. Unknown model appearing to made up of mismatched parts. The top of the trapdoor is marked “1869 U.S.” while the lock is marked “U.S. SPRINGFIELD 1863”. The butt plate is marked “U.S.”. Antique ships directly to MOST buyers home. Condition: Fair with the stock and barrel being cut down. Missing its front and rear iron sights. Mismatched parts. Heavy metal oxidation, patina, and finish loss. Scratches, scuffs, and dings in the wood. Mostly bright and clean bore with strong rifling, but does show multiple spots and rings of metal oxidation.
