Description U.S. Springfield Model 1863 in .45-70 Government with a single round capacity and a 29″ barrel. Firearm is completely nickel finished. The finish is worn with pitting underneath. Barrel proof marks are worn and covered with the letter “R” being the only distinguishable marking. Right side of receiver is marked “1863”, “U.S. Springfield”. Trapdoor breach is marked 1866 with no other proofs on the rifle. “Dick Ingalls” is lightly scribed on the stock underneath breach and missing cleaning rod. Antique, ships to most customers homes. Condition: Good, with operational and handling use, pitting under nickel finish, light rust along trigger guard and butt plate. Wood has some light cracks, with four punched holes on either side of stock end. Bore is lightly pitted with visible rifling.
