This example with serial number 311230, was shipped on November 26, 1909 to Simons Hardware Company. According to the Colt Archive Letter, which confirms current configuration. Blued and case colored finish, Checkered composite grips with Rampant Colt logos. Swept under Bisley style grip and enlarged trigger guard. Curved trigger and Bisley style hammer spur. Fixed front blade sight. The left side of the barrel is marked “(BISLEY MODEL)” “45 COLT”. The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT.F.A MFG. Co” “HARTFORD CT U.S.A.”. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT SEPT 19 1871” “JULY2 72 JAN19 75.” with Rampant Colt logo. Must ship to FFL or C&R holder. Condition: Action needs work, and timing is off. Will need internal work. Otherwise, most of the bluing has patinated or been lost with the right side of the barrel, trigger guard, cylinder flutes, trigger, and grips retaining most of the bluing that is left. The case coloring on the frame has also mostly patinated or been lost with some small spots showing the case coloring. The finish also shows general scratches, scuffs, dings/contact marks, and a cylinder drag line from handling and operation. There is varying amounts of metal oxidation/pitting on most of the metal parts, most of it is small spots or freckling. The lettering and proofs are visible and relatively crisp considering the age of the revolver. The grips are in great shape with some light handling wear and retaining most of their texturing. The bore is great considering the age, it is overall bright with some light “freckles” of rust and strong rifling.
