Description Remington model 1889 Hammer chambered in 12 gauge with 28″ Damascus steel side by side barrels. The water table is serialized 69868 making this example an antique, it is also marked grade 1. The barrel on this shotgun is likely a replacement since grade 1s had decarbonized steel barrels instead of Damascus that would be found on grade 3 shotguns. Exposed circular hammers and double triggers. Diamond checkered splinter foregrip and pistol grip stock with RACo marked rubber butt plate. Front bead sight. The top of the rib is marked “-REMINGTON ARMS CO- -ILION,N.Y. U.S.A.-“. Both sided of the lock are marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO.”. Antique ships directly to buyers home in MOST states. Condition: Poor, most of the finish shows a plum/brown patina color with spots of metal oxidation/pitting. The wood is in solid shape with varying scratches, scuffs, and contact marks. The bores are what make this shotgun poor condition, as both bores are heavily pitted and likely unsafe to fire even with period appropriate loads. Action appears to function as expected with decent lock up considering the age. This lot is sold AS-IS. Barrel Length: 28″ Serial: 69868 Manufacturer: REMINGTON ARMS COMPANY Gauge: 12 Ga.
