Description High Condition Third Model Winchester 1873 Musket in .44-40 with a fourteen round capacity and a 30″ barrel. Serial dates to 1903. Case colored butt plate with cleaning rod door, empty. Smooth walnut stock and front forend. Case colored lever, trigger, buttplate and checkered hammer. Blued receiver and barrel. Rear ladder sight and front fixed blade sight. Metal loops for mounting a shoulder sling. Must ship to a C&R or FFL holder. Condition: High condition rifle with strong original bluing throughout with only minor losses at muzzle, high points, and minor contact marks. Some settled patina in low points, and surface freckling on barrel. 85% (or better) case coloring on hammer, and lever. 60% case coloring on buttplate with freckled spots. Strong original finish on stocks with some noticeable contact and field marks. Bore is Strong, Shiny, and near-new. Function is smooth and strong.
