Description UPDATE: The pistol maintains most of its original bluing especially on frame, some parts i.e the take down lever more than likely touched up with cold blue or similar… Mauser S/42 Late Finish Kriegsmarine Luger chambered in 9mm with one magazine with matching serial number and “N” Property number. Manufactured in 1938 with serial number 1228. Blued short type frame with stock lug, wide trigger, narrow trigger guard, push button magazine release, take down lever, and thumb safety marked “GESICHERT.”. Matching checkered walnut grips. Blued barrel, chamber, receiver, and toggle with flat checkered toggle knobs. “Dorsal” fin shaped front blade and rear V-notch iron sights. The top of the chamber is marked with the manufacture date of 1938. The top of the toggle is marked “S/42”. “Eagle 63” military acceptance mark is stamped on the left side of the barrel and twice on the right side of the receiver. 1936 to 1939 era Third Reich eagle test fire proof is stamped on the right side of the barrel, right side of the receiver, and left side of the toggle. The bottom of the barrel is marked “8,82”. The bottom of the frame forward of the trigger guard is marked “i”. The grip strap is marked with a Kriegsmarine Nordsee Fleet inventory number “N 3425”. The bottom of the magazine is marked with matching serial number “1228” and matching inventory number “N 3425”. All of the parts including the grips and the magazine are matching. Must ship to FFL or C&R holder Condition: Good/Very good with most of the bluing showing evidence of being reblued, unknown who by or when it was refinished but looks to be well done. The finish has some small scratches, and chatter/contact marks. Some light spots of finish loss near the muzzle and on high edges. Some light touches of metal oxidation under the bluing. The grips are in solid shape with some imperfections/patina, one small contact mark on the left grip. The checkering is still relatively strong considering the age. Clean rifled bore.
