Description Desirable WWI Colt PTFA Model of 1911 US Army semi auto pistol chambered in .45 caliber with one seven round removable magazine and a 5″ barrel. Manufactured in 1917 this features a “P/H” marked barrel, fixed front blade, flat top notched rear sight, two-line and two block address with patent marking on the left side of the slide and Rampant Colt logo rear of serrations, “UNITED STATES PROPERTY” marking on left side of frame, circled “GHS” inspection mark on left side of frame rear of trigger, long and smooth solid trigger, checkered hammer, slide catch, safety, and magazine catch, double diamond checkered grips, short grip safety, and smooth, flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Included is one two-tone magazine with a two pin base and lanyard loop along with a hand written letter attesting to this pistol being carried during WWI including service during the battle of Belleau Wood. Ships to FFL/C&R only. Condition: Overall Very Good with a few scattered spots of freckling and few small pits on the right side of the slide. There is some finish loss on the high spots and front grip strap. The bore is clean with just a slight hint of frosting and strong rifling and the action functions as expected.
