Description UPDATE: The status of this frame is unknown. The serial number has not been altered or changed, possibly a “Lunch Box Gun” or replacement frame. Serial number appears to be original. Rare and low serial number Remington UMC model 1911 semi auto pistol chambered in .45 ACP. Less than 22,000 pistols were manufactured by Remington between 1918 and 1919 and this in one of the first few thousand off the line. This example bears serial number 3082 on the frame along with “Eagle / 138” on the trigger guard. The left slide legend reads “PATENTED DEC.19.1905 / FEB.14.1911.AUG.19.1913. / COLT’S PT.FA.MFG.CO.” followed by circle “REMINGTON / UMC” followed by “MANUFACTURED BY / REMINGTON ARMS UMC CO.INC / BRIDGEPORT. CONN,U.S.A.”. The right is marked “MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY”. The barrel is marked “P” on the top of the chamber and the pistol is outfitted with proper diamond checkered grip panels. Included is one, tight fitting aftermarket magazine. Ships to FFL/C&R Only. Condition: Good showing significant finish wear throughout. There is scattered speckling along with light and scattered surface marks. The grips show considerable wear. The safety lever and hammer do still show a hint of flame blue finish. The bore is lightly frosted with scattered spots of corrosion but good rifling. The action functions as expected.
