The included Cody Firearms Museum Research Department letter confirm the serial number, grade, barrel length, chokes, chambers, sights, and stock configuration. The letter also states the shotgun was ordered on December 31, 1968, and Inspection Finished on March 17, 1970. Engraved Winchester pattern 4. This 20ga 26″ barreled shotgun has a white front sight and ivory middle sight on top of the solid rib barrel, marked “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER”. Underside of barrel is marked “WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL” with chokes, “MOD” and “IMP CYL”. Water table, barrel flats, forend loop are all engine turned. Breech and release lever have moderate scroll work, Receiver is well covered and adorn with scroll and game scenes. Single gold selective trigger and automatic tang safety. Selective ejectors. Barrels and water tables appropriately marked with Winchester proofs, chambering and gauge. Fancy walnut pistol grip stock and beavertail foregrip are beautifully hand checkered. Pistol grip cap is blued and scroll engraved to match. Butt is also checkered. Condition: Excellent original condition. Bluing is 96+% with only some storage thinning on rib, Wood is excellent with only minor handling marks. Lock up and function is like new.
