Description US Springfield Model 1880 Hunting Knife. US Springfield marked handguard and RIA, Rock Island Arsenal marked leather and brass scabbard. 8.5″ long blade and a 13.5″ overall length. 1882 Second variant with brass guard. Serial numbered 2246. Back of scabbard belt loop is marked 32 R.I.A. Condition: Good/Very good with light touches of surface metal oxidation and handling wear. The wood handle has a small old chip on the backside where it meets the brass belt loop. The scabbard is still supple with wear and a small bend in the brass belt loop.
