Gus Steineke Schuetzen precision percussion cap rifle in .40 caliber. This features a 31″ heavy octagon barrel with target hooded front sight, graduated and elevating rear v-notch sight and a removable and quite clever rear peep on the tang adjustable for both windage and elevation. The breach, tang, lockplate, cock and ornate trigger guard are all engraved with a scrolling pattern and animal figures. This is outfitted with a set trigger and set to a hair trigger pull. Condition: Overall in Fine condition with a nice bore with crisp rifling. There is some flaking of the finish on the triggers and trigger guard tang and discoloration mostly on the butt plate. The wood rates higher in condition with just a few scattered marks from handling.
