Full length stock octagon barrel percussion smooth bore rifle in .50 caliber. The barrel is marked “EICHHOLTZ” “LANCASTER”. This features a dove tailed front blade sight with elk horn rear sight. The lock plate has border etching and faint engraving of a dog and bird. The brass furniture includes a single brass ramrod thimble, trigger guard, toe and butt plate. The stock with integral Monte Carlo rest is nicely tiger striped from muzzle to butt. The full length octagon barrel is a dark brown patina with some pitting and oxidation on the nipple and around the breech end of the barrel. The lock plate exhibits some surface pitting and signs of cleaning. The action operates as expected. The wood is in nice condition with no cracks evident. There is some wood loss due to combustion just behind the nipple. CLASS: ANTIQUE NO FFL REQUIRED
